perpetual paths: Selected Work

as·sem·blage: A collection or accumulation of things or
people gathered into a single context.
no·mad·ism: To be in a continuous state of traveling and
movement; with no permanent ‘home.’
be·com·ing: The process of moving in between states.
rhi·zome: Has no beginning or end; it is always in the middle, in between and in a perpetual state of motion.

Perpetual Paths consists of works which explore the origins of personal identity and human connectedness. Using Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari's philosophies of the rhizome, assemblage, nomadism and becoming as an underlying foundation for her work, Leddy etches and prints on transparent acrylic, overlapping linear formations. Through the build up layers a unified piece is created out of individual Plexiglas segments, describing the creation and ever changing nature of identity, which grows and alters through accumulated experiences.
