As time passes, the stars rise and fall, and stories are told, passed on, and forgotten. Constellations assigns new ideas to our interpretation of the stars above; or perhaps they are old ideas. The lived experiences of celestial witnesses mold storytelling possibilities, referencing both the mystical and mundane. These images are created not in disregard of the stories that have been passed down to us, but in celebration of those who looked up to the night sky and decided to tell a new story.
In their new series, Constellations, local photographer Bryan Peters and digital artist Teenybotanist bring to life nature among the stars. Bryan's photographs highlight the stunning night skies of the Rocky Mountains, while Teenybotanist paints them with the unseen stories of the animals that inhabit these landscapes.
